About CountedOnceBot

CountedOnceBot visits a Shopify store only when someone asks for a check of that store. It does not crawl.

Quick check (the free scan on this site): about six requests, at least a second apart: robots.txt, the home page, /meta.json, one product page, and the store's public Google Tag Manager file. Pages are read, not run.

Browser visit (used by the operator for a small number of stores, and for stores that ask for it): the home page and one product page are loaded once in Chrome, like one visitor. Nothing is clicked. Because the page's own code runs, this can appear as one visit in the store's analytics. Requests to private or local network addresses are blocked.

Full audit (speed, apps, accessibility): only for store owners who asked for it or are clients. It loads the same pages several more times, including Google Lighthouse, which also carries the CountedOnceBot name.

All modes follow robots.txt: if it disallows the store, returns an error or can't be loaded, nothing else is requested. The bot never requests cart, checkout, account or search pages directly, never submits forms, never adds to cart and never places orders. It does not try to get past bot protection: if a store blocks it, it stops.

Results for a store are reused for 24 hours so repeat checks don't reach the store again.
